Nowadays, the interest towards the Industry 4.0 environment is growing substantially due to the necessity to include automation and data exchange in manufactoring technologies, promoting the cyber-physical systems communication and the computerization of manufactoring.
The DISLO-MAN project aims at realizing an ICT platform able to manage integrated and dynamic production operations, characterized by a high level of automation to guarantee the optimization of the resources.
The BIM methodology seems to provide the right approach to this necessities, due to the possibility to retrieve all the information (geometry and alphanumerical) from a single database; the BIM model can be used to move inside a building and implement it with real-time updates, using technologies such as AR and VR too. Using these technologies would help in reducing the risk of human errors and reducing management costs linked to the system management itself.
